Lithium battery of 200Ah can give quite a lot of energy. But how is such a battery actually put together, and what can you use it for? We explain it for you below. We also highlight some 200Ah lithium batteries for you.
What is a 200Ah lithium battery?
A battery differs from a battery. “Battery” comes from the English word “accumulator,” which means building up or collecting something. Thus, a battery can both release and store energy. This is unlike batteries. Batteries are often made for a specific device, with a unique shape and size.
The composition of lithium batteries produces an electrochemical reaction that generates energy. That reaction takes place between manganese dioxide and lithium. In addition, lithium batteries and accumulators have high energy density and low self-discharge. In practice, this means that lithium batteries and accumulators last much longer than other types of batteries and accumulators.
Finally, what then does the 200Ah stand for? A lithium battery has a specific chemical composition and differs in ampere-hours: the abbreviation for it is ‘Ah’. This value indicates how many amps per hour a battery can deliver. Thus, the higher the number in front of the Ah, the more amps per hour the battery can deliver to a device. In the case of a 200Ah lithium battery, 200 amps can be delivered in an hour.
What is a 200Ah lithium battery used for?
The applicability of lithium batteries is very broad. Think, for example, of hearing aids, electronic toys or watches. A 200Ah lithium battery generates a lot of energy and is therefore also very suitable for large devices and systems. Examples include batteries for solar energy, electric cranes, elevators and motor homes.
The differences between lithium batteries and AGM batteries
In addition to lithium batteries, other types of batteries are also available. For example, the AGM battery, or Absorbed Glass Mat battery. This is a battery where the battery acid is contained in woven fiberglass mats, which sit between the lead plates of the battery.
The AGM battery has a long service life, requires little maintenance and has low self-discharge. This battery is suitable for various devices: from toys to UPS systems. You can recharge an AGM battery around 1500 times.
In contrast, a lithium battery can be charged up to 25,000 times! This is due in part to its high energy density and limited self-discharge.
